Description
Another incident while walking my children home from school where I was nearly side swiped by a speeding vehicle on Wakefield street. Who can I call, what is it going to take to make this street safe for kids walking home from school. The volume of vehicles and speed is unacceptable for such a narrow residential street with no sidewalks.

Thank you for your submittal to See-Click-Fix. The Town's safety committee (PTTTF - Parking, Traffic, Transportation Task Force) met last week and your concern was discussed.
The Police Department will be increasing enforcement on Wakefield St to address the speeding issues. Unfortunately, adding sidewalks would be very difficult (if not impossible) in this area due to the narrow width of the right-of-way that the Town owns on this section of Wakefield St, not to mention several mature Town trees that already exist just off the edge of the road as well. The Town does acknowledge your concerns and will pursue further safety improvements to this area in the future if conditions and funding were to allow.
